New JIG chairman for 2008-2009 Announced

PPA TAKES OVER CHAIRMANSHIP OF JOINT INDUSTRY GROUP

Sally Cartwright OBE, director-at-large of Hello! has been appointed chairman of the Joint Industry Group (JIG) Main Board. Cartwright takes over the chairmanship on behalf of PPA in April for the second time. She first chaired the Group six years ago.

JIG has also announced the appointment of Duncan Edwards, chief executive of The National Magazine Company who will chair the JIG Stakeholder Group on behalf of PPA. It is the first time that the two groups have been chaired separately.

JIG’s Main Board meets monthly and is chaired on an annual rotational basis. Cartwright takes over from Peter Wagg, former National President of the NFRN. The Stakeholder Group meets three times a year and comprises senior directors of the participating associations; its role it is to monitor the progress of JIG work, and to assist the decision making process.
