New JIG chairman for 2005-2006 Announced

Paul Siviter is to be the Joint Industry Group Chairman for 2005/ 2006. He succeeds Terry Perry on 1st April 2005.

Paul, a former Vice Chairman of the ANR, is Managing Director of Stars Newshops. He joined the company three years ago from the Co-op.

Stars Newshops is an independent, family owned business, which operates 160 retail outlets of which 98 are traditional CTNs and 62 are convenience stores. It is part of the same group that owns several regional evening newspapers including the Express & Star.

Paul said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to chair JIG on behalf of the ANR. Much progress has been made over the past year and I am grateful to Terry Perry for his positive contribution in that period.”
