R RDT Retailer Delivery Time
  Recall Note A document sent to the customer every day, advising which titles and issues of unsold copies are due to be returned
  Re-Run Second delivery resulting from newspapers arriving late to the wholesaler
  Returns Quantities of unsold titles that have been sent back from customers for credit, usually prompted by the Recall Note

  Shop Saves Process for customers to reserve a title with the retailer for later collection (MOS in WHS-speak)
  Shorts/Shortages Where less than the expected supply was received, either from the publisher to the branch, or from the Branch to the retailer
  Shrink Theft/Losses (e.g. of stock) that cannot be identified or accounted for
  SOR Sale or Return
  Specials Similar to one-shots, being undated, but recognisable as a special issue of an existing title – often seasonal
  Standing Order The number of copies on file for each title/issue due to be delivered to each retailer
  Subscription A title supplied direct from publisher to consumer
T Terms and Conditions (Code of Practice) The conditions which govern the supply of newspapers and magazines to retailers, binding both parties
