Workstream Details

Fact Finding/Market Specific Data

This is about benchmarking and data analysis.  We set out to get a common base of factual data for 2005-07 to share, with ability to examine the find volume and % and category hot spots.  This should be accessible to those retailers who want to gain an understanding of the detail and consider how to influence their individual range; and should inform the workgroup on potential further action.  This data to be updated quarterly for and from 2008.

SBR and Fulfilment

This is about sharing the work to date of the various wholesale and distributor initiatives and tests in SBR and Fulfilment, in order to pull it into one common overview and create common understanding and benchmarks for best practice.  In addition the need for any further modelling and testing should be established and the role that further Epos activity might play explored.

 Understanding Retail Issues

This is about establishing and differentiating perceptions and realities of retail experience, enabling issues to be gathered into a logical structure for ongoing consideration of how root causes of things that reduce efficiency can be addressed in the future, and where learnings from other JIG work or from other product sectors can be derived.  In particular the previous work by JIG on Shrink was revisited.

Relevant Research

This is about learning from other geographies, products, sectors, reports etc by gathering from available sources relevant reference material.  Many reports have been examined and summaries of the most relevant and links to full content can be accessed by those interested in pursuing potential further.

Communications/Development

This is about creating the means for sharing the work to date, and for updating it with data refreshes, best practice documents, case studies etc as they are established.  The group totally supports the publication of all of the relevant data and has agreed a  method for regular updating.  This web site is a core part of such communications development
