Unsolds Challenge

What is the Unsolds Challenge? Summary of the Project.

What is the Unsolds Challenge? Brief synopsis of the project ......

JIG periodically reviews those areas where collaborative work can help the whole supply chain by improving joint understanding, sharing available information and best practice, addressing important common issues, and driving sustained action in the interested of all associated with the category.

While some things can be progressed by one or several parties in the supply chain, others can only deliver improvement and benefit by collective and concerted effort. It has became increasingly clear during recent years that levels of Unsold products have been rising causing both work effort and cost. The vast diversity of products and outlets and the ‘unique’ single issue nature of each product does not make for easy solutions that work for all.  Concern about the levels of Unsolds was considered the single biggest supply chain issue by JIG and it established a work group during late 2007 and into 2008 to get all of the relevant facts and figures and begin to explore what is and can be done to address the issue.
