Sales Development

The Sales Development Group had met on 26th February and agreed on three primary areas of focus:

The Consumer Research sub group, chaired by Oliver Wright (PPA), would try and pull together all available consumer research.

The Best Practice sub group, chaired by the NFRN, was tasked to pull together all available Best Practice guidelines.

The Supply Chain sub group, comprising the three retail groups and chaired by Richard Lamb (BRC), would look at the supply chain from the perspective of a retailer and identify both areas where they believed processes could be improved and areas of concern.

All sub groups were given a six week period to collate their findings.

As the group did not want to duplicate the work being carried out by the PPA Retail Marketing Group the fourth category, Innovation and how to drive the category overall was, at present on hold until a report had been received from the PPA RMG.

By having four simplistic areas the Group believed it would be possible to deliver easy wins without cost and drive sales.
